HSE University is a socially responsible institution, as well as a centre of competence and best practices for sustainable development. As one of the leading universities in Russia, HSE contributes to development of academic environment nationally and globally, and aims to set the agenda in economic, social, technological and humanitarian fields, determining the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
We aim to maximise the University’s global value through effective interaction with our key stakeholders within our development model.
Managing Sustainable Development
Sustainability is among the core pillars of HSE University’s strategic development. In order to integrate sustainability issues into HSE development model, a specialised Strategic Development Committee has been established. This collegiate managing body performs the following functions:
- coordinating the creation and regular update of HSE University's integrated strategic development programme, including the University’s efforts in the field of environmental and social responsibility, and its contribution to the socio-economic development and well-being of society
- supervising the implementation of HSE University's integrated strategic development programme and monitoring the effectiveness of sustainable development initiatives
- formulating and considering new initiatives in the field of strategic and sustainable development, including academic initiatives and institutional changes at the University
- ensuring an effective engagement of the University’s stakeholders in its strategic development
