HSE Development Programme until 2030

Scientists at the HSE Centre for Language and Brain have identified key factors that increase the effectiveness of mobile and computer-based applications for aphasia rehabilitation. These key factors include automated feedback, a variety of tasks within the application, extended treatment duration, and ongoing interaction between the user and the clinician. Samarkand State University named after Sharof Rashidov hosted the international research and educational seminar 'Branding Cultural Heritage: Digital Tools and Design Practices.' The event gathered researchers and students from Russia and Uzbekistan—participants of a large-scale project of the mirror laboratory 'Integrated Platform Solutions for the Preservation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage (Cases of Samarkand and St Petersburg)'.

On July 6–7, 2025, the 17th BRICS Summit took place in Rio de Janeiro. For the first time in the organisation’s history, representatives of civil society from BRICS countries participated. HSE Vice Rector, Head of the BRICS Expert Council–Russia, and Co-Chair of the Russian Chapter the BRICS Civil Forum Victoria Panova attended the meeting of the bloc’s national leaders.

United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and HSE ISSEK experts have discussed the role of technology foresight in promoting a circular economy. 

At a meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Statistical Committee, HSE ISSEK researchers Gulnara Abdrakhmanova and Anna Demyanova presented a system for measuring the full life cycle of AI technologies, which allows not only to track the development and implementation of AI, but also to assess its impact on the social sphere.

HSE University's Centre for Language and Brain has developed the first standardised tool for assessing Russian reading skills in adults—the LexiMetr-A test. The test is now available digitally on the RuStore platform. This application allows for a quick and effective diagnosis of reading disorders, including dyslexia, in people aged 18 and older.
